The Juliet Modern Traditional Remodel with Rascher & Co. brought new life to a beautiful St. Paul home. Our clients were looking to brighten up their home after moving to Minnesota to be closer to family.
The Design
For design, they were wanting to incorporate timeless pieces, mix metals, and add some color.

Before | Main Level
Here’s how the kitchen looked before. The overall floor plan functioned well, but we decided to close off the doorway from the dining room into the kitchen in order to get a much better flow with the cabinet layout and countertop space.

With this dining room having two entrances, the smaller doorway wasn’t used as often. We planned to keep the larger entrance off the entry and make it feel like a true formal dining room.

After | Main Level
Now this dining room feels intentional and lighter! The clients had a beautiful reclaimed table from her father that grounded the space and tied in perfectly with the new rug, chairs, and light fixture.

On the opposite side of the dining room, we updated the front room with SW Snowbound for the walls and millwork along with a new light fixture, front door, and furniture. This paint color is one of my favorites and helps to lighten up a space, while not feeling too stark.

The staircase got a updated runner and we kept the wood on the tread and newel post for warmth.

Off of the kitchen, this cozy living room was brought back to life with new carpet and a stunning fireplace remodel with Fireclay Tile.

In this modern traditional remodel, the kitchen now has a better flow with the doorway closed off from the dining room. All new cabinets provide ample storage, especially with appliance garage and pantry flanking the sides of an alcove range hood.

For the island, we went with SW Roycroft Bronze Green for a darker contrast. It pairs beautifully with the wood stools and gold pendants.

By continuing the Cambria Colton quartz from the countertop to the backsplash, we created a seamless look that is also easy to clean and maintain.

Mixing metals is a great way to add depth and intention to any design. We paired an oil rubbed bronze faucet with gold pulls and knobs in the kitchen.

Over at the little eat-in kitchen, we updated the chandelier to coordinate with the other fixtures and brought in new furniture.

Before | Bathroom
In the primary bath of this modern traditional remodel, the plan was to keep the overall layout but replace the large jetted corner tub with a smaller alcove one. The previous space felt dated and lacked character.

After | Bathroom
This bathroom now exudes a timeless, cozy, and warm feel while still maintaining the bright look the clients love. For the vanity, we chose SW Evergreen Fog which is a soft sage green color.

Light marble hexagon tile gives the sense that the floor is original to this older St. Paul home. It is paired with a polished ceramic square tile for the shower walls and tub surround.

Glass cabinet knobs also nod to the traditional style of this home and are like jewelry to the vanity cabinets.

The shower and tub area feel so much larger with the jetted corner tub removed. We went with an alcove bathtub to save on cost and space, while still giving that luxurious bath feel.

In the shower, we incorporated two tile niches and a bench.

This was such a special project to help the clients breath new life into their modern traditional remodel in St. Paul. I loved leaning into a traditional home, while also incorporating pieces that fit their style.
