The Park Ave Cape Cod with Bald Eagle Builders project has been such a joy to work on! When the clients purchased this home, they wanted to rework the layout to better suit their family, while adding character details to bring this hundred year old home back to life. In the upstairs, our goal was to create a larger primary bathroom, remodel the kids bath, and update the bedrooms and hallway.
Primary Bathroom
This primary bathroom was lacking functionality and also felt very small in comparison to the bedroom. The goal was to bump it out a couple of feet to make room for a double vanity, large shower, and more private toilet area.

This is the same view from the door, but as you can see, there is so much more space and storage!

Cabinetry Concepts built all the cabinetry in the home and did an amazing job. These are white oak inset shaker style cabinets with a clear stain. Bringing warmth to this space was a priority and these cabinets do a great job of adding that.

Between the vanity cabinets, a tall storage cabinet was added for additional storage.

The walls are painted Snowbound by Sherwin Williams and the vertical wainscoting is Drift of Mist.

The Cape Cod feel flows into the shower with beautiful marble tile from Tile Shop. By choosing the same marble tile in various sizes throughout the bathroom, it gives a feeling of cohesion and elegance. The floor tile is a 8 x 20″ size, the shower tile is a 3 x 6″ subway, and the mosaic on the shower floor is a 2″ hexagon.

Gold cabinet knobs bring in a pretty detail that dresses up the vanity.

Delta’s Trinsic collection is featured in the vanity faucets, shower faucet, and bathroom accessories.

For the countertop, we chose Cambria’s Newport, which is a beautiful nod to the coastal Cape Cod feel.

Primary Bedroom Fireplace
Previously, the bedroom was lacking personality and this fireplace needed a makeover. Our plan was to take it to the ceiling to draw attention to the vaulted ceilings.
What a difference! By using the same stone as the main level, we were able to bring cohesion to the home. The stone adds depth and texture with a nod to the Cape Cod feel. Tongue and groove paneling was added to the ceiling as well.

Kids Bath
Here’s where the kids bath started…

…to it now! Although the layout stayed the same, it feels much brighter and leans into the Cape Cod style too.

One of my favorite elements of this bathroom space are the Laura Ashley sunflower pattern floor tiles that tie in the blue of the vanity. The vanity is painted Wolf Gray by Benjamin Moore and the walls are Drift of Mist by Sherwin Williams.

For a fun play on the classic subway tile, we paired white and blue tiles on the shower walls.

The round wood mirror is reminiscent of porthole windows found on ships.

Bedrooms
In the bedrooms upstairs, the clients installed wallpaper with a nautical Cape Cod theme. The new millwork and fresh carpet give an updated feel to this space too.
