After a wonderful maternity leave with our baby boy, I’m getting back into the swing of work today while both kids are at daycare. It’s such a blessing to be able to make my own schedule, do what I love, and ease back into work with a few days of childcare per week for now. If you want to hear more about the birth story of Levitt, I shared it on an episode of “The Home & Grown Podcast” I host with my sister!
After putting together this list of my baby registry, pregnancy, and postpartum favorites to share with friends, I thought it would be fun to share it here too! It can be overwhelming to sift through all the baby options out there when you find out you’re pregnant, so I hope this can be a helpful resource from a second time mom who has spent hours looking for and using these quality gender neutral products.
Baby Registry
We used Babylist for our registry and LOVED it because you can easily add from any store! I also added the extension to my browser, so adding things was super easy too!
Nursery:
- Diaper Pail: Nice size, keeps odors in, like the neutral and clean look
- Leather Rocking Chair: My goal with our rocking chair was to have it be something that would fit the aesthetic of our home when it was no longer for a nursery. I love this chair and I really like that it’s easily washable with all the baby fluids, milk, etc. I also use this ottoman with it too!
- Crib: The exact crib we have is sold out on Wayfair, but this one is similar! I love the look.
- Rattan Light Fixture: I absolutely love this light for a nursery! It’s the one we have in ours and it provides a good amount of light, without being too much and looks so cute!
- Hand Drawn Tapestry Map: This has been a fun gender neutral artwork piece over the crib.
- Storage Cubes: We use these for socks, onesies, anything to organize those tiny clothes!
- Stackable Wood Bins: These are great for sheets, clothes, shoes, sleep sacks, toys – really anything!
- Woven Changing Basket: We’ve used this for both kids and like the slim profile and look of it. I will say, we had to add a leather mat on top of the white one for easier cleaning.

Feeding:
- Pump: I got the Willow and really liked it for my first breastfeeding experience since I was on the go quite a bit. I used these reusable containers rather than pumping into their bags to save money. I’d then just store milk in these bags. One of my friend’s has the Elvie and I think it’s easier to clean and quieter than mine. This time around, I am using the Medela Pump in Style for when I’m working from home (this one needs to be plugged in while using it). If you live in Minnesota, you can use this website to get these pumps through insurance.
- Hand Pump: This has saved me more times than I can count. So nice if you’re feeling full or need a quick pump at home or on the go.
- Haaka: use on other side when breastfeeding to catch let down – have gotten lots of frozen milk from this. You can use it in the early days when you’re not pumping yet too!
- Boon Trove: Not as strong suction as the Haaka, but great because it stays in your bra
- Bottle + Pump Cleaning Kit: I like this because it’s smaller and I can tuck it away when not in use so I don’t always have something on the counter.
- Bamboo Drying Rack: I also just got this one for when we need more drying space.
- Baby Led Weaning Kit: We use this when moving to solids and it’s great, has a bib, plate, cup, bowl, and utensils
- Baby Led Weaning Book: This was helpful when starting solids to learn more about it!
- Highchair: We recently got this once Saylor started eating solids and have liked it a lot. Pretty aesthetic and easy to clean!
- Boppy Nursing Pillow: I used this every single day in the beginning of our breastfeeding journey and have since used it to help kiddos sit up and for tummy time.
- Burp Cloths: These have been my favorite because they’re soft, neutral, and can also be worn as a bib
- Milk Storage Container for Fridge: I’ve been using this glass pitcher to pool milk throughout the day while pumping and then put it into storage bags to freeze at night.
- Nursing Cover: I loved this one because you can see the baby with the neckline, it’s lightweight, easy to pack in a diaper bag, and a great material.
Bathing and Grooming:
- Nail Filer: So much easier than clippers so you don’t accidentally cut them!
- Bathtub: Really like this because it can grow with them – the bottom piece can turn around and come out as they get bigger
- Bath Toys: Love the aesthetic of these and that they can be cleaned out more easily
Medicine Cabinet:
- Nose Frida: This is WAY better than the bulb in our opinion, but I have also liked this one, even though it seems super gross haha! We use this saline spray mist before sucking out noses.
- Humidifier: Nice for those winter months and when they have colds!
- Tooth Oil: So helpful for their little gums while teeth are popping through.
Sleeping:
- Pacifiers: These are the only ones our babies liked!
- Crib Sheet: Love this brand of crib sheet – really anything from this brand is amazing!!
- Hatch sound machine: LOVE this – nightlight and sound machine in one, used it all through the baby stage, but also for toddler stage with red + green light for sleep and wake time
- Baby Monitor: We had originally gotten one with Wifi, but then learned some scary stuff of how people can hack it, so we got this one. Easy to set up while traveling and has a good camera too. We now have THIS ONE for two kiddos with a dual screen.
- Sleep Bag Swaddler: Love the Kyte Baby brand and this was our favorite swaddle after testing out a couple different brands. Love their sleep sacks too!
Baby Gear
- Bouncer: Folds up really well for storage and great to have for when you need 2 hands! It goes up to 20 pounds, so it lasts awhile too
- Swing: This swing is great because it also folds up for storage! Less bulky than other swings and more neutral as well. Plays music or white noise and swings back and forth.
- Mockingbird Single to Double stroller: LOVE it. It was a way to save on some costs and pairs well with the Pipa Car seat below with a simple adapter.
- Stroller Organizer: This is so nice for walks to have a place to put your phone, water, etc.
- Nuna Pipa Lite LX Car Seat: Even though it’s pricier, we really love this car seat. It’s super lightweight and has stood up well over 2 kiddos.
- Activity Gym: Used this SO much during the newborn stage.
- Boba Baby Wrap Carrier: We love this carrier around the house and during naps when out + about. It’s soft, but has good support. I used this tutorial to figure out how to wrap it.
- Snuggle Me Organic Baby Lounger: Highly recommend it!! We used this so much in those first few months.
Travel and Outdoors
- Outdoor Blanket: We’ve used this so much! Washes off easily and folds up nicely – even brought it to Alaska!
- Travel Sound Machine: We’ve used this a ton on road trips, at church, whenever we’re on the go and she needs a nap!
- Ergobaby Omni 360 Carrier: This is perfect for hikes, around the house, or walks in the neighborhood. We have used it so much and highly recommend it.
- Parker Baby 4 in 1 Carseat Cover: If you’re looking for a good multi-use purchase, this is it. We’ve used it as a nursing cover, car seat cover, and little blanket.
- Winter Car Seat Cover: Since both of our kiddos were born in the winter, this has been SO nice to have. We take the standard shade off the Nuna and put this on so they stay nice + cozy!
- Practical Diaper Bag Backpack: I like this backpack a lot because it has a lot of compartments and can store tons.
- Stylish Diaper Bag: Definitely a cuter option that still stores a good amount, but not as much as the one above. I like this one for church, out + about for a day, but the other one for travel.
Pregnancy
- Swimsuits – Loved this one and this one, very flattery and comfy!
- Jumpsuit – Very comfortable and grew with the bump, which was nice. You can layer with long sleeves underneath for winter or just a tank for summer months!
- Maternity Tanks – Great for layering or wearing by themselves
- Growing You Journal – I got this for both kids. It’s such a special way to document your pregnancy, their birth, and other little details you want to remember.
- Large Bag of Dates: Ate 3-4 of these every day in the last few weeks to help with labor prep
Hospital Bag
- Baby blanket: So soft, cute, and great thickness for winter babes.
- Weekender Bag: I was able to fit all of my stuff and baby’s in this bag. I’ve used it beyond the hospital multiple times as a weekender bag too.
- Slippers: LOVED these in the hospital, but around the house as well. Nice to be comfy while in the hospital snuggling baby.
- Water bottle
- Nursing nightgown: This is such a good one for late night feedings and not putting pressure on your stomach. I would just wear diapers and a nursing bra under during the early days.
- LMNT electrolytes: These helped me so much during pregnancy, but with breastfeeding and regulating digestion after labor + delivery too.
- Fan: This is nice in the hospital if you get warm during labor, but can also be used for strollers later on too.
Postpartum
- Nursing bra: These have a bit more support and are like a sports bra.
- Nursing bra: I really like these too! I got them it in black and blush.
- Hospital and postpartum kit: This was SO helpful for me. You can also buy more items indiviaully through the brand’s store on Amazon if needed too.
- Bathroom caddy: I used this in our bathroom for the postpartum stuff to keep it all contained.
- Nipple cream: SO helpful for those early feeding days.
- Postpartum underwear: I wore one of these to the hospital after my water broke and then at night for a couple of weeks postpartum.
- Bath Salt: I took 2 baths a day for the first week with these bath salts and it helped so much with the healing process!
- Baby Devotional: This is a short + sweet devotional for new parents that I’ve loved!
