Arden Place Kitchen Design Details

This kitchen design has been such a fun one to watch come to life! Rascher & Co did an amazing job on this project and we’ll be styling and shooting this space soon. Before we get to the reveal, let’s rewind to the design.

Mood Board

The overall inspiration for this kitchen included a mix of white and wood cabinetry for a classic and timeless design. Other elements we wanted to included were a breakfast nook, coffee bar, and light quartz countertops.

Selection Options

After sending the mood board and getting feedback from the clients on what they loved, it was time to move into selections. During this phase of design at Willaby Way, clients are shown two options. This allows us to hone in on the style for the space and gives clients the choice between two options, without going overboard with decisions.

Option One
The first option has a more modern feel with black and gold fixtures, a fun pop of color in the backsplash, and sink that has a variety of components.

Option Two
For this option, the selections lean a bit more traditional, while still having that timeless feel. The fixtures are one finish, instead of two, and the backsplash shown is a handmade option.

Can you guess which option the clients went with? You’ll find out in the renderings below!

Floor Plan and Elevations

Once selections are finalized, it’s time for the floor plan and elevations. These provide a blueprint for the clients, contractor, subs, and also allow us to get bids for cabinets and countertops.

The wall between the kitchen and previous dining room was opened up to create a better flow. By extending the cabinets to the front of the house (right side of the plan), the clients are able to gain a breakfast nook sitting area that also holds extra storage. Opposite the bench, we’re adding a coffee bar and pantry cabinets.

In this elevation, you’ll see how the breakfast nook has drawers for additional storage. To the left of the sink, there is pull-out drawer for trash and recycling. Floating shelves allows for open storage by the dining room where the clients can display dishes and glassware.

Here on the other side of the kitchen, you’ll find the range with a simple hood, counter-depth fridge, and arched tiled niche with shelving and space for countertop appliances like a coffee maker. Since every space is unique to each client, we’re hiding the microwave in this kitchen design. When it’s in a cabinet, it’s tucked away and out of sight, but still available when needed.

Kitchen Design Renderings

This kitchen design really started coming to life when the renderings came into play! As you can tell, the clients loved the selections from option one and those are the one shown here. The cabinets will be a mix of white and natural wood for that timeless look.

As you walk into the kitchen from the entry, the breakfast nook and coffee bar will be to your right and the rest of the kitchen to the left.

This tiled arch nook is definitely a highlight of the kitchen design! While the other backsplash tile has a subtle variation, this area is getting a pop of color with the blue.

With the breakfast nook, this family will be able to enjoy meals in this cozy spot or over at their dining table. The arched nook provides a spot for their coffee maker and more storage.

Overall, this kitchen is getting a much more functional layout, tons of extra storage, and a really fun style!
